Specialty Concerts

Duelling Pianos
I am proud to be part of the cadre of talented pianist/vocalists who make up the West Australian “Duelling Pianos” and The “Duelling Pianos Australia” team across the country!
What is “Duelling Pianos?” Well, it's all about your requests!
Picture two exceptional musicians battling it out on the keys, creating an energetic symphony of sound where your favourite tunes meet a playful chaos - this isn't just a show, it's an experience! From classic anthems to today's chart-toppers, THE AUDIENCE call the shots, they request the hits, and we bring them to life. Request all your favourites and the duelling pianists do the rest!
Currently The WA “Duelling Pianos” team is doing it's thing every Saturday at the Subiaco Hotel from 8:30 pm to after midnight. I don't perform every week so check out the “Upcoming Performances” to see when I will be there next, but if you go any Saturday you will find two great pianists there playing your requests!
Alternatively you can book me and one of my piano mates to come and perform for your private event. It's a great way to have a fun and interactive night with your friends - with the music they like! Click the “Contact” link above for bookings.
“All Request Concerts with Robert Graham”
Of course, I don't need anyone else to "duel" with in order to play an evening of requests! I perform many solo “All Request" concerts, where the audience is free to call out the song they want! I often bring along copies of my repertoire list (1800 songs) to help people remember the songs they may not think of in the heat of the moment. Perfect for clubs, pubs, theatres, social groups, and private events, just click the “Contact” link above for bookings.
"Songs You Forgot You Loved" Concerts
I have developed a beautiful concert called “Songs You Forgot You Loved”. The idea for the concerts started when I began to bring my repertoire list to shows and people began to choose songs for me to play. I quickly realised that there are SO many songs out there that people love that they completely forgot about! Seeing them written down really helped to jog their memories. Performing these songs, songs that are special to people, is very special to me too.
The concert can be designed around a certain decade (eg 60s, 70, 80s), or can be tailored to suit the theme of the evening. Designed for theatres and clubs, the concerts really are true “concerts” and include the stories behind the songs, as well as the beautiful and uplifting songs people temporarily “forgot they loved”.

"It was so much better than going to a bar. The intimate setting and great sound made it a very memorable night for us."
"Composers don't often get a chance to provide interesting and amusing backstories to an appreciative and attentive audience. Truly an 'intimate' musical evening."

"Rest, Restore, and Recharge" Workshops
Do you need find some time to relax? Or are you struggling to find time to be creative?
The idea for the “Rest, Restore and Recharge” class came to me over time, as I performed weekly services at St Micheal and All Angels church, where I currently work as a Music Director. During certain times in the service (e.g. communion, arrival and departure) I play very calming, meditative music to create a mood of relaxation and contemplation. Feedback from those in attendance has been very positive, with many people expressing how much they enjoyed the “down time” of being alone with their thoughts for those moments.
This helped crystallise the RRR sessions in my mind. Why not do a hour session of this type of piano music, in a non-religious setting, during which people can do whatever they wish? In conjunction with Heartplace (upstairs in the Fibonacci Centre, Fremantle) I began the sessions in January 2024 and I have now perfromed them all over the metro area, including for the Mandurah Arts Festival.
What do people do in these one hour RRR sessions?
Some sleep, or rest. Others lie or sit with their eyes closed, taking in the music. Others paint or draw. Some people read, or write - on paper or on a computer. Some other people meditate or perhaps pray, or just quietly sit or lie with the music. One person even made jewellery! Participants have shown me poetry, or blog posts they have composed during the one hour sessions. Others have commented how great it was to just take an hour to relax and let go of the stress they were feeling. All felt the music was the perfect compliment to whatever they were doing - whether it be creative or reflective.
Private sessions are also available for groups or individuals. Please click the “Contact” tab above for more information and bookings
